Freestanding basins are also known as vessel basins and are a modern basin option that sits on top of a furniture unit or worktop without being fixed to the wall. Consequently there is usually space all the way around the basin which with great for regularly used storage. Plumbing World supply freestanding basins in a wide range of shapes and sizes including rectangular, square, round and oval shapes. Some freestanding basins have a tap hole and can be used with a standard basin mixer tap whereas others do not have a tap hole and should be used with a tall basin mixer tap instead.
