Plumbing World Goes Green
Plumbing World announced today that they plan to become a “Greener Company” and reduce their impact on the environment.
So what are they doing? Planting Trees? Actually No.
Plumbing World is trying something a little different by launching their new recycled packing strategy. The plan affects the dispatch department when sending parcels to customers and consists of using entirely recycled boxes, received when stock is ordered and where necessary only buy and use boxes made from the maximum amount of recycled materials possible. There Go Greener strategy also involves reusing packing materials used by suppliers and even using their own shredded paper to protect and pack items rather than investing in roll after roll of bubble wrap and other environmentally unfriendly materials.
Adam Sherratt, Web Developer at Plumbing World Said:
“It is important for us as a business to acknowledge our responsibilities to the planet and protect the environment in as many ways as we can, by using recycling packing materials we can make a positive impact. Billions of boxes are made and used every year, why would we want to add to that when we can use the existing ones? Production, assembly, several instances of transport, all these box related processes take a heavy toll on the environment. We feel by using boxes we already have and only using recycled material based boxes when demand is high, more than 95% of our packing will be recycled materials and this will greatly reduce our personal impact on the environment, which of course, benefits everyone.
This isn’t the only way we are trying to make an impact either. Many of our staff make a commitment to cycle to work at least once a week to reduce pollution caused by using cars or even public transport.”
But how does this affect you the Customer?
Customers can purchase over 4000 Plumbing, Bathroom, and Heating Products from a company they know is playing there part to protect the environment. By buying from them you too will be playing a part in protecting the planet.
But does this mean your order will come broken in its ripped, punctured, “rubbish” box? Definitely Not.
Mark Serrell, Managing Director of Plumbing World Said:
“We respect some people may have concerns about our new packing strategy but I would like to personally assure all customers we would never use a box unfit for purpose. Our priority has always been to offer “Service Without Compromise” and this is no exception, any box not suitable for protecting your goods in transit can simply be broken down and used to protect items within other boxes just like our shredded paper. This move allows anyone who orders from us to have a positive impact on the environment with no extra effort or cost to themselves. We will not raise our prices as a result of this new strategy and will remain as competitive as possible.
